History of Nursing
  • Florence Nightingale, also named as lady with the
    Lamp was named after a place in Italy and since
    she worked and as awake all night Nightingale
    was added to her name .
  • Her Birthday 12th May 1820 is celebrated as
    Nurses day because she was founder of modern
    Nursing and she saved many lives of wounded
    soldiers of Crimean war
  • She nursed patients during polio and malaria
    epidemic as well. Both nursing and education role
    was defined by Florence Nightingale
