considered the Energy Plex due to the fact that
the local economy is supported by a diverse
energy supply. The county and cities within it
are fueled by nuclear, oil, solar, and gas
energies that help feed the local economies. J.J.
Murphy has helped lead the city during one of the
fastest growth periods in the history of Hobbs
from 2012 to 2015.
