Opt into Sicily and Malta Tours
2
Malta
The history of Malta can be traced back to 4,500
B.C. The island came into prominence when
inhabitants of bordering Sicily employed sea
vessels to sail across the water.
3
Enriching History of Malta
Malta spun off from the Phoenician empire and
roots in the story of Carthage. However, Malta
reverted to the ownership of Romans during the
second Punic War (218 B.C.). Further, they held
over under Rome until the Vandals barged into the
island in 395 A.D. However, no records exist that
would throw light on the turmoil the island rode
out throughout the years, spanning over till 535
AD.
4
Valletta
The Capital of Malta is Valletta and has been
conferred UNESCO World Heritage site. The island
managed to pull down such an accomplishment
courtesy of the fact that history is steeped into
every nook and cranny of the island. Further,
passage of time has drowned the island in
architectural history. Also, it is a host to two
harbours, i.e. the Marsamxett Harbour to the
northwest and the Grand Harbour to the southeast.
5
Diverse Elements of Valletta
Valletta is a city and a population of only 6,098
inhabits in the city. Traditionally, the city has
been the main administrative district in Malta.
As opposed to it, a population of over 350,000
has hunkered down in greater Valletta and hustle
and bustle rings out in the city. Further, wide
array of cafes and restaurants are interspersed
across the city and you can scout around
assortment of romantic avenues and alleyways.
6
Nutshell Introduction of Sicily
Sicily projects itself as a small island in the
Central Mediterranean and overhangs the tip of
the Apennine Peninsula. Further, the narrow
strait of Peninsula, towards the North African
Coast ropes it off the Apennine Peninsula. Mount
Etna, which is widely renowned as the tallest
active volcano in Europe inhabits the landscape
of Sicily as a prominent landmark. Further,
archetypal Mediterranean climate hovers around
the island.
7
It is worth concluding that with such great
features of Malta and Sicily, it becomes
imperative for you to head off for Sicily and
Malta torus in the upcoming vacation.
