from one generation to another as an autosomal
dominant trait. It arises due to genetically
programmed degeneration of neurons in some parts

coordinating movement while cerebral cortex
regulates perception, thought, and memory.
Degeneration of neurons leads to progressive
cognitive impairment and dementia. People with
Huntington's disease often develop chorea that
causes involuntary muscle movements of hands,
face, trunk, and feet. The behavioural disorders
associated with the disease include depression,
psychosis, and changes in personality. Other
