American Ballplayers League
Based in New Jersey, The ABL (American
Ballplayers League) is a fast-growing
recreational sports league for adults and young
professionals in Bergen, Essex, Hudson Passaic
counties. With over 100,000 participants since
2003, ABL Sports offers the most popular team
sports for adults 18 over with a focus on fun,
safety and good sportsmanship. Formerly known as
'i9 Sports,' the ABL is more focused on adult
players, and our new website reflects our goal of
providing the most exciting Softball, Basketball,
Flag Football and Soccer leagues throughout the
region.

The ABL Story
Our league, formerly known as i9 Sports, was
created in New Jersey in December of 2003 with
one goal in mind "To provide teams and players
with the most well organized league and present
more benefits than any other program".In just our
first year, we registered over 50 teams, and word
quickly spread across New Jersey that there was a
new league that did things differently and
treated teams as customers. Considered the
best kept secret by many, but not for long.Our
state-of-the-art website was raved about as our
league grew to 3,500 members - weekly League
Standings, Team Statistics, League Team News,
Free Agency, and Registration with a click of a
button.In 2012, we were proud to announce the
creation of the ABL, which allows teams
throughout New Jersey to compete utilizing the
same successful system created by i9 Sports.

With professional referees, top quality fields
and fierce athletic contenders, this season will
bring you the ultimate competition. We promote a
good time in an ESPN-style atmosphere. Choose
your division recreational or competitive!

Slow-Pitch Softball
We have a Men's and Coed league that plays
throughout Northern NJ. To sign up a team, you'll
need at least 12 players on your Roster. Short on
players? Check out our Free Agent Board, or post
up a message on Facebook. The spring season
starts in April, and summer season starts in
July! We keep all player stats, so check out your
team box score when you get to work in the
morning. League leaders, standings, news, photos,
video and more. All you need is a slow-pitch
softball bat, a glove and you're good to go!
