Some General Facts about Egypt
If you are looking forward to a tour of Egypt in
the near future, you should be sure you have some
general information about Egypt. Egypt is an
Arab Republic located in North Africa bordering
the Mediterranean Sea. It has the Red Sea in its
west. Sudan lies in the South, while Libya
occupies a place in the West. Egypt has an area
of 1,001,450 square km. A large part of it is
made of desert, although quite a bit of it is
occupied by the Nile River. With scanty rainfall
all over, the Nile River remains the sole source
of moisture for a large populace. Egypt houses
the Suez Canal that acts as a shortcut between
sailors who intend to sail from Europe to Western
Asia and India. It provides a better route than
having to travel all the way around the African
continent. It has Cairo as its capital city,
which lies in the north east.
