    world is especially true in case of a workplace
    where things are expected to be done quickly and
    efficiently. The importance of soft skills,
    either as a natural talent or something that is
    taught or learned through practical experiences
    is very important in such cases. It is the
    behaviours, attitudes and beliefs of oneself and
    the people around them that influence the
    acquiring of soft skills in a person.

  • In any job, a good worker is the one who has
    the necessary skills to perform the job
    efficiently. For instance, a customer service
    professional must be able to listen patiently to
    the customers and offer the best solutions a
    pilot must have superior ability to fly a plane
    safely and so on. These skills are job-specific
    skills that are a pre-requisite to any
    profession. On the other hand, there are other
    skills that dictate how the worker interacts with
    fellow workers, his superiors and clients which
    involve personality traits, interpersonal skills,
    body language and other personal qualities called
    the soft skills.

  • Todays employers look for soft skills in a
    person more often than other skills. These skills
    are important for every job and demonstrates to
    the employers the dependability, accountability
    and adaptability of the worker. Ironically, these
    skills are those that are sorely lacking in most
    adult workers. The main premise of soft skills
    programs is to help employees learn interpersonal
    and communication skills needed to obtain and
    retain the best jobs. It emphasizes the
    importance of soft skills in workplace and helps
    job seekers and employees to either learn or
    improve their skills to be more successful in
    their jobs and increase productivity.
