The IPL 2015 tournament finally came to an end
with the Mumbai Indians team emerging as true
winners, says Vaikundarajan. They completed one
of the most remarkable turnarounds in the
eight-year history of the Indian Premier League
by transforming a terrible start to the
tournament - they were at the bottom of the table
for the first two weeks - into a title win.

This was Mumbai Indians second victory in the
eight year long history of IPL. Mumbai Indians'
love affair with Eden Gardens continued as they
got their second IPL title following a crushing
41-run win over Chennai Super Kings in a lopsided
summit clash at Kolkata last Sunday night.

It was a story of a stunning turnaround for a
team that lost its first four games. Mumbai won
nine of their last 10 matches as all their big
players came to the party when it was required,

Mumbai Indians posted an imposing 202 for five as
skipper Rohit Sharma (50) and Lendl Simmons (68)
rattled up a 119-run stand off just from 67 balls
after being called upon to bat. The Mumbai
Indians captain who has an ODI world record of
264 and also a debut Test hundred at the Eden
Gardens, yet again exploded at his favorite
venue.

Sharma (6 fours, 2 sixes) and Simmons (8 fours, 3
sixes) plundered 19 boundaries in their
partnership. Nehra bore the brunt - he was hit
for three sixes and a four in the 17th over by
Pollard - and Mumbai Indians finished for only
the second ever 200-plus win in an IPL final,

Rohit Sharma went up on stage to collect his
trophy and said, We played like true champions.
Mumbai Indians have shown great character. It was
just a matter of putting everything on the field
and I couldn't have asked for anything better.
We've got guys in our team to do well. We always
spoke about showing character. We won in 2013,
but this is very sweet. We came from nowhere to
win. Credit goes to all the boys for doing well.
It was important that we got some momentum, it
didn't happen at the start, but the turnaround
was great. He was handed a 15-crore cheque.

Dwayne Bravo earned the Purple Cap for taking 26
wickets. David Warner won the Orange Cap for
scoring 562 runs in the season. Chennai Super
Kings bagged the Fair Play award. Shreyas Iyer
named the Emerging Player of the season. Chris
Gayle gets the Maximum Sixes award, for hitting
38 sixes this season. Best Catch of the season
was awarded to Dwayne Bravo, for his breathtaking
effort at long-on to dismiss Shane Watson in
Chennai. Rohit Sharma is the Man of the Match for
his 26-ball 50.
