What is Organ Failure?

• Organ failure occurs when an organ does not
  perform its function.
• Stability of the body cannot be maintained
  without clinical intervention.

When does it usually occur?

• Usually associated with diseases specific to the
  failed organ itself.
• For example, a common cause of the failure for
  the Kidney is Diabetes.

What is the incidence of organ failure in India?

• Approximately 300 deaths everyday in India are
  due to organ failure.

How does Genesis Foundation work with children
suffering from organ failure?

• We support post-transplant medication that
  prevents possible organ rejection.
• We support the patient till the point that are
  able to bear the costs themselves.

What are the expenses involved in treatment of
organ failure?

• Approx. Rs. 1, 30, 000 p.a. per child and more
  depending on the medical situation.
