Donate Money for Education (1)

Description:

We are in Elementaita to meet with John Gakunga, a Senior quality control Officer from the Kenyan Department of Education. We are looking forward to speaking with him learning more about the barriers to education in Kenya and he is interested in learning more about Ace of Good. Back at our camp we sit down with him over breakfast as he candidly lays out the challenges he faces in providing quality education to the children of Kenya. The Kenyan government, since 2003, provides free compulsory primary and secondary education to all. Between the theory and the reality however, is a large gap: The government provides the teachers but not the school building.Yes, that is not a typo. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

1
WELCOME ACE OF GOOD
The scorching Cambodian sun backlit the plastic
bags that were being carried by small children as
they scavenged through garbage for something to
eat or sell. As we stood and watched the smell
was overwhelming and bits of garbage blew through
the air getting stuck in our hair and eyelashes
burning our eyes. This was these childrens every
day reality.

EDUCATING CHILDREN
Cuba has a staggering 99.8 literacy rate, much
higher than most first world nations. During our
delivery trip to Cuba, we visited schools and met
with representatives from the board of education
to learn the secret to their success. Through our
travels we learned that in 1959, Fidel Castro ran
an unprecedented literacy campaign.

COLLECTIONS FOR SHOP
The America Collection was born out of the Ace of
Good mission to serve the children of our
Military Families in the USA who are living below
the poverty line and cannot afford school
supplies for their children. The sequester and
the recent government shut down has further
adversely affected our Military Families.
