Ultrasound Preparations
  • ABDOMEN
  • Do not eat or drink 6 hours before the test.
    Medications can be taken with a small amount of
    water. Eat light non dairy food if necessary
    including in a medical condition e.g. Diabetes.
  • RENAL, PELVIC AND OBSTETRICAL EXAM FOR ADULTS
  • Finish drinking 2 cups of water or fluids 45
    minutes before yourappointment time (please eat
    before drinking fluid) DO NOT EMPTY YOUR
    BLADDER (unless your bladder is full andyou are
    in pain, empty a small amount 1/2 cup)

  • RENAL AND PELVIC EXAM FOR CHILDREN (4-12 YEARS)
  • Drink 2 cups of water or clear fluid DO NOT
    EMPTY YOUR BLADDER
  • ABDOMEN AND PELVIC EXAM
  • Do not eat 6 hours before the test.
    Medications can be taken with a small amount of
    water. Eat light non dairy food if necessary
    including in a medical condition e.g. Diabetes.
