  • Description
  • This session will generally describe
the risks involved for providers serving an aging
population under the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark
Law, and False Claims Act. The applicable safe
harbors under the Anti-Kickback Statute and
exceptions under the Stark Law will be explained
so that providers can understand how these fraud
and abuse laws apply to their industry.
  • The presentation will then focus on ways
providers can mitigate these risks, focusing on
    operational challenges. Because the presenter
focuses his practice exclusive on fraud and abuse
issues, and fair market value defensibility
issues, and because the presenter was in-house in
an integrated delivery system for 7 years, the
presenter know show to mitigate fraud and abuse
    risks.
