Russell Mertens is a qualified engineer, and is
currently serving as Applications Engineer in a
renowned Houston based Rilco Manufacturing
Company, Inc. He is greatly fascinated by the
technology and the innovations that has brought
developments in different industries.

The technical bent of mind inspired him to become
master of various software. He has comprehensive
knowledge about basic Matlab, Pro Engineering,
PSpice, and Fire Dynamics Simulator, and is the
master of advanced Arcview, Invetor, MS Excel,
AutoCAD, Mastan 2, SAP 2000, Technical Drawing,
and Visual Basic.

provides complete compatibility with AutoCAD,
utilizing almost the same file formats, including
line types, hatch patterns, commands, drawings,

About Dean Russell Mertens Russell Mertens is an
experienced professional in Structural
Engineering. Prior to Rilco, he has worked for
two companies namely Hermann Park Conservancy and
Cobb, Fendley and Associates, Inc. He has good
working knowledge of various software including
Arcview, AutoCAD, Visual Basics, SAP2000, and
more. He took part in the Concrete Canoe
Competition at the University of Houston (ASCE)
in the year 2008 in Corpus Christi Bay, TX, where
he helped design and shape a concrete canoe
winning 1st place against regional universities.
