Hollowcore slabs are pre-stressed concrete slabs
aimed to obtain fast and affordable construction
works. These are readymade concrete slabs which
are made in different sizes and remain
exclusively supportive for wide-span construction
works including commercial complex, multistoried
apartments, high rise buildings, shopping malls,
etc.

Hollowcore slab preparation remains one of the
careful jobs in the construction industry. These
processed cement blocks are made of applying
higher grade ingredients hence, the outcome

Ingredients Applied to make Strong Concrete Slabs
Unlike earlier ingredients the modern components
that are applied to make Hollowcore slabs are
much higher in strength and conductivity.
Concrete is the main component that is fed into
the hollowcore making equipments. The concrete
mix is a blend of several ingredients including
crushed rocks, limestone, granite, fine sand
granules, coarse gravel, etc.

Proportion of Ingredients and Mixing Method
Though variety of ingredients is available to
make concrete, yet the quality of slab can be
enhanced by changing the proportion of
ingredients. Similarly, mixing method also brings
in changes to the texture of the concrete.

Do the Ingredients develop the need for Curing?
The ingredients are selected based on comparing
the durability and strength they offer when mixed
in right ratio. In addition, preparation of
hollow core slabs are done with the help of
equipments that like extruders, casting pallets,
saws, etc which works in such a way that there is
no curing required for construction works
involving pre-stressed slabs.
