  • Igor Purlontov is an animal right advocate who
    have deep concerns and care about animals of the
    entire world. He puts a lot of effort in proving
    the value of animals in our life.  Igor Purlontov
    is a respectable animal philanthropist. He has
    invested lot of time and dedication to study
    various methods of providing a quality life to
    the animals.
  • Mr Igor Purlontov is closely studying about cats
    and dogs since a very long time. Lots of
    researches and studies say that having a pet dog
    not only gives companionship and security to the
    owner but is also useful in treating
    posttraumatic stress disorder or PTSD.

  • According to Mr Igor Purlontov one out of
    five military men returning from war zone are
    suffering from PTSD. It can include anxiety,
    restlessness, sleeplessness and flashbacks. It
    may eventually lead to suicide. Studies shows
    that use of animal therapy on such patients have
    given wonderful results. 80 of the patients are
    showing improvements in their condition,
  • Mr Igor Purlontov says that these companion
    animals are very useful in treating stress,
    anxiety, depression and panic disorder. Cats are
    very useful in reducing cholesterol levels,
    triglycerides and loneliness while dogs
    contributes to increase physical exercise,
    outdoor activities and improved social life of
    the person. If the patient has a pet with him
    then he will have the responsibility of taking
    care of that pet. To take care of that pet they
    have to follow a schedule which can be very
    helpful in treating depression.

    behaviourist and trainer have started a program
    called pets for vets. This program take companion
    dogs from local rescue group and train them
    before handing it to the patient suffering from
    PTSD. These animals are very useful to help the
    military people to live a civilian life and to
    come back to normalcy.

    therapy is beneficial for both the patient and
    the animal. These abandoned animals from shelter
    homes get a second chance in their life. This
    program led to decrease rate of euthanasia in the
    animals,
