Integrate, Automate and Report
  • To help us understand how we can improve Turn
    Around Times, we need to share a common
    understanding of the key processes in a typical
    Supply Chain Logistics warehouse.  Our view of
    such key processes
  • Inbound documentation All inbound documents
    -commercial invoice, packing list, purchase order
    delivery note are validated.  Once validated
    these documents need to be checked into the 
    Warehouse System
  • Cargo offload and quality check  Cargo is
    offloaded and checked for quality.
  • Carrier booking The cargo is then booked on
    appropriate carriers that meet the pre-defined
    profitability targets.  On completion of carrier
    booking, Load list/plan and inventory documents
    are getting generated from the Warehouse System
  • Outbound preparation Once carrier booking is
    completed, outbound team updates the Warehouse
    System with booking information along with
    stuffing date, load date, and carrier details.
  • Outbound documentation Then the transfer team
    generates the shipment documents from
    the Warehouse System  for custom clearance and
    documentation.
  • Delivery information Once cargo is delivered on
    the destination side, transfer team gets the POD
    date and updates Warehouse System

  • Information silos Many processes managed
    manually and related data is maintained in
    MS-Excel based silos.
  • Quality of data Different operators tend to
    updated information in different styles.  This
    introduces variability and reduces the quality of
    available data
  • Lack of visibility A lot of time is wasted
    finding out information which should be easily
    visible and accessible.

    centralized repository.
  • Report  Analyze the data constantly and create
    reports dashboards that broadcast the
    performance of the warehouse to key stakeholder
    including clients and senior management team.
