Do you love swimming, but hate training? People
can only succeed at things they enjoy. Its a
fact of human psychology which a lot of us do not
know. Our very own subconscious minds sole
purpose is to keep us away from pain, and towards
pleasure. This natural human instinct is
something we simply cannot get away from. In
simpler terms, we cant succeed in swimming and
complete our first swim training program without
enjoying it. Otherwise, youll have to find a way
to enjoy it. So if you are not enjoying your
swim training program, it is better to ask
yourself why. Make all the necessary changes to
get yourself back in the zone to improve your
swimming technique. If you want to have a
successful swimming program, get happy! Boredom
and disinterest, time and time again, has proven
to lead to failure. They simply affect every
major part of a swimmers life. Your emotional
balance, motivation, perseverance, relationships
with coaches and other swimmers, and all the
aspects of your training will greatly suffer.

A lack of variety in training and being
time-consumed with other commitments, like work,
school, family and social life, bring forth
dissatisfaction. These are things which can arise
in our day-to-day lives. Fortunately, they are
also things which can be taken care of. There
simply isnt a problem which cant be addressed
fully or improved in some way. All you have to do
is to look for the right answers. For instance,
swimmers who succeed immensely take full
responsibility for their own happiness. They
dont rely on everyone else to adapt to them
before they can enjoy themselves. Winners always
rise above the occasion and set their minds
straight. Dont let anything or anyone get in
your way. Enjoy even if you dont have the right
swimming training gear. Focus entirely on
swimming. Be positive and enjoy your environment.
This is not to say that the reasons for your
disinterest are not valid concerns. In order to
succeed, fix them quickly before you find your
motivation beginning to become affected. This is
what everyone should do when faced with a dilemma
during training.

Are your laps slower than youve anticipated? If
you ever begin to feel that youre losing your
motivation, ask yourself why. Slow lap times are
not something you should be worrying about. You
are training to improve, right? If it is your
busy schedule, take a break and write out a fresh
one, and see if you can set aside a little more
relaxation. Swimming is too fun not to enjoy, and
once again, if you really wish to become a better
swimmer, your enjoyment is a vital component.
Its that plain and simple. Put your own
interests at the very top of your priority list.
Before you can make any serious attempt at
achieving any goal, your motivation level should
be at its highest. This applies not just to
swimming, but life in general. You can do
