What is Obesity ?
An obese person has accumulated so much body fat
that it might have a negative effect on their
health. If a person's bodyweight is at least 20
higher than it should be, he or she is considered
obese. If your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between
25 and 29.9 you are considered overweight. If
your BMI is 30 or over you are considered
obese. In general, BMI is a statistical
measurement derived from your height and weight.
Although it is considered to be a useful way to
estimate healthy body weight, it does not measure
the percentage of body fat. The BMI measurement
can sometimes be misleading - a muscleman may
have a high BMI but have much less fat than an
unfit person whose BMI is lower. However, in
general, the BMI measurement can be a useful
indicator for the 'average person'.

What Are the Health Risks of Overweight and
Obesity?
  • STROKE
  • A stroke, also known as a cerebrovascular
accident or CVA, occurs when part of the brain
loses its blood supply and the part of the body
that the blood-deprived brain cells control stops
    working.
  • Strokes are usually classified by what mechanism
caused the loss of the blood supply, either
    ischemic or hemorrhagic.
  • How do I know if I'm having a Stroke?
  • Call 911 immediately if you experience
  • sudden loss of vision in one eye or both
  • sudden loss of strength in a limb
  • sudden loss of sensation over part of your body
  • sudden inability to speak or to understand spoken
    commands
  • sudden dizziness, loss of balance or lack of
    coordination
  • sudden severe headache without a known cause

A stroke is a medical emergency because strokes
can lead to death or permanent disability so act

High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure (HBP) is a serious condition
that can lead to coronary heart disease, heart

pressure" is the force of blood pushing against
the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps
blood. If this pressure rises and stays high over
time, it can damage the body in many ways.
1 out of 3 adults in the United States has HBP..
Lets check your categogy.

Diabetes Diabetes is a chronic disease due to
excess blood sugar. This occurs when the
pancreas, an organ in the abdomen, fails to
produce enough of the hormone insulin. Insulin
plays a critical role in metabolism - how cells
in the body use nutrients, especially glucose, to
produce energy. There are three major forms of
diabetes, Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes.
