Daren VanderLey An Introduction

Daren VanderLey is a third generation racer who
has grown up in the racing world with a
grandfather in the NHRA Hall of Fame who also
holds Bonneville land speed records, and a father
who owns VDL Fuel Systems and builds Holley
carburetors for all levels of racing across the
country. DJ began racing at age 5 in an
A-restricted kart. He is a man who believes in
dreams, and expects to win when taking part in
the race.

• DJ Completed His Graduation from UMS-Wright
  Preparatory School
• Daren DJ Vanderley completed his high school
  course study in the year 2010 at UMS-Wright
  Preparatory School, Mobile AL. He took AP courses
  in preparation for earning a double major at
  Georgia Tech in mechanical engineering and
  aerospace engineering. At UMS, DJ was accepted in
  both the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha
  Theta National Math Honor Society, and made 33 on
  his ACT. He was also on the Headmasters list
  with a weighted GPA of 4.24. DJ was very active
  in the Key Club (a service organization) and also
  the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

DJ Pursuing Bachelor of Science In Mechanical
Engineering DJ Vanderley received the Spirit
of Auburn Presidential Scholarship to attend the
Honors College at Auburn University. He is
pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
Engineering from Auburn University Magna Cum
Laude. This will be completed in May 2014. DJ
is a member of Tau Sigma Pi National Engineering
Honor Society and Alpha Lambda Delta National
Honor Society. He is also on the Samuel Ginn
College of Engineering Deans List.
