Effective Educational Leadership

According to her, Effective educational
leadership can become the synergy we need to
lead students, parents, community, staff and
professional colleagues to excellence in
education. The educational leader must strive
to exceed customer expectations and
professionalism within the school.

Deborah Hunter-Harvill had also written that in
order to impart student learning, it is
important for the educational leaders to develop
the best plan of action for quality teaching and
professional development. She added,
Educational Leaders know that whatever academic
mandates are in place, will have to be reviewed,
learned and implemented.

Educational Leaders are now becoming familiar and
engaged with the Common Core Standards, Qualit
y Teaching,Visionary Leadership, Building
Relationships, Professional Revelopment,
Attaining Rigor and Relevant Curriculum,
Decision making, Collaboration, Delegation,
Maintenance of Building and Grounds, Preparation
and Planning for crisis situations, Media
Friendliness, Curriculum Walkthroughs, Civic
Leadership and Building Educational
Partnerships, and Curbside external walkthroughs.
They determine measures of success, set the
goals and develop a plan.

About Deborah Hunter-Harvill
Deborah Hunter-Harvill is the founder and CEO of
Hunter-Harvill Educational Associates Inc and
former Buena Vista Schools District
Superintendent.
She received her Educational Doctorate from
Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan) in
the year 1994 with an emphasis in Administration
and Supervision. She received her Master's
Degree in Special Education and Leadership and
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from
Marygrove College with an emphasis on K-8
education, 9th Grade Social Sciences and Reading.
