Head Academy Kung Fu's Leichhardt branch is
approaching its 10th birthday. In January 2014 we
will celebrate a decade of teaching Jow Gar Kung
Fu in Sydney. As I start to plan the celebration
I can't help but contemplate the journey of
teaching martial arts in Sydney for 10 years. We
have been lucky enough to have a wonderful
student body who continue to train hard.   From
the children engaged in our Little Tigers martial
arts program to the adults training in our Kung
Fu classes. Boys and girls, men and women of all
ages, have been able to transform themselves
physically, emotionally and mentally using Head
Academy Kung Fu Sydney's specialised and unique
Martial Arts programs.

• Our members choose to train kung fu with us for a
  variety of reasons. From health to self defence,
  we offer all of our members the tools and the
  opportunity to achieve their personal goals. To
  aid our members at Head Academy Kung fu I believe
  we have the best team of instructors in any
  martial art school in Sydney. There are very few
  schools where the majority of instructors
  teaching are black sash or higher.

• This is especially the case in Leichhardt where
  we have developed a base of Black sashes over the
  last 10 years, who are happy to give back to the
  school and other members by assisting and running
  our kung fu classes. I remember when I started on
  my kung fu journey I was being taught by students
  who were orange sash! In January 2014 I look
  forward to celebrating an exceptional group of
  members, parents and instructors!

Head Academy Kung Fu Sydneys New
Location   Expanding our network of Martial arts
schools in Sydney I am pleased to announce the
opening of Head Academy Kung Fu in Sydneys far
south. Yarrawarrah! Owned and operated by first
degree black sash Chris Pendergast, this school
is the first in a planned roll out of new
locations in the next few years.   We have many
expert instructors who plan to expand the number
of our branches teaching martial arts in Sydney.
Sigung Andy and myself are proud to honour our
founders by fulfilling the promise of spreading
the cherished art of Jow Gar Kung Fu throughout
Sydney and Australia.

• Finally, we also talk to our kids at regular
  intervals about how they are enjoying Kung Fu and
  their other activities and what their goals and
  ambitions are. And we make sure we ask them these
  questions at the right time for example, over a
  relaxed dinner on a non-busy night. This gives
  the kids time to think about their answers and it
  allows us to think about their answers and, if
  there are doubts around something like their
  commitment to Kung Fu, to be able to have a
  deeper discussion and explore things further.
• We are very grateful to Ken, Eric and Harry, who
  have all played an important part in helping our
  kids remain focused at Kung Fu and, dare I say
  it, acting as terri?c role models! -) And we are
  also extremely grateful to Sifu Nathan, who
  really does go to a signi?cant amount of effort
  to ensure that our kids are not only learning
  good Kung Fu, but respect, focus and
  self-discipline as well, as these are, in my
  opinion, the foundations for success in life.

fast, in fact I believe that Chris has had to
enlist some instructor help already because the
classes are growing so quickly! On behalf of all
