  steady strokes, both pushing and pulling. Pulling
  the vacuum cleaner against the grain of the
  carpet stands the fibers up and exposes embedded
  soil. Repeat this several times over each area.

• Mix ¼ teaspoon liquid dishwashing detergent in
  one cup lukewarm water.
• Blot the stain area with the solution and rinse
  thoroughly with warm water. Rinse several times.
• If the stain persists, try blotting it with a
  mixture of 2 tablespoons household ammonia per
  cup of water. Rinse thoroughly.

• Blot the stain with a commercial spot remover
  available at supermarkets or departmental stores.
  
• Pour fluid onto a cloth rather than directly on
  the cloth and blot the stain.
• Rinse thoroughly.

After Carpets Are Cleaned

• Beware of slippery surfaces when you step from
  damp carpet to linoleum and other hard floors.
• Dont put towels or sheets or newspapers on the
  carpet.
• Vacuum the carpet thoroughly after it is dry with
  a clean vacuum.
• Dont move your furniture back until the carpet
  is completely dry.
