Alabama State Board of Educational Ruler which
states our commitment to the following
  • Safe and Disciplined Schools
  • Highly Qualified Teachers
  • Challenging Curricular
  • Emerging Leaders
  • Ultimate Goal All children will be
successful and become productive citizens in
    society.

3
Adequate Yearly Progress
  • Adequate Yearly Progress is the highest level of
instructional achievement for state of Alabama
    and was established in 2004.
  • This measures students success in SAT, ARMT for
grades 3-8 and AHSGE for grade 11
  • Failure to achieve Adequate Yearly Progress
results in being placed in School Improvement,
    offering Supplementary Services, and parents
right to transfer to another school in the
district that has achieved AYP if applicable.
  • Federal Funds are restricted up to 15 for SES,
and thus a district can lose its flexibility in
reference to funding for personnel if a school
continue to be in school improvement.
  • Last, but not least, if a school continues in
school improvement, the staff and principal can
be reassigned, eliminated, and or the state will
intervene and run the daily operations of the
    school.
