IOWA Test

What is IOWA?
The IOWA is a norm-referenced test based on
general curriculum goals that are common to most
programs throughout the nation in the autumn. It
is designed to be primarily to provide a general
look at the performance of a student or school in
a given subject area referenced to the
performance of a nationally representative
group--the norm group.
3
Security of Test Materials
  • All materials associated with IOWA are secure
materials. It is important not to provide an
opportunity for any student to have access to the
tests. Prior exposure will invalidate score.
  • Materials cannot be photocopies or reproduced in
    any manner, including paraphrasing.
  • Test questions may not be taught in part or in
whole prior to, during or after testing. Answers
may not be provided in any fashion.
  • Answers may not be erased or altered by anyone
    other than the student.

Security of Test Materials(cont.)

and return ALL test booklets, practice tests and
    manuals.
  • After testing, ALL test materials will be
    returned to the district office.

  • Count all tests and manuals as they arrive at the
school. The District Summery Packing Slip is
located in Box 1. Count the number of boxes you
    receive.
  • Save the boxes materials were shipped in. Use
these same boxes to return materials to District
    Office..
  • If test security guidelines are violated
According to Utah Code, Section 53A-1-608(3) The
State Board of Education may revoke the
