• To give students an understanding of the
  application of current and future tactical
  communications systems technology

• Upon completion of this course the student will
  be able to evaluate, and, to predict the
  consequences of changes in the design and
  establishment of military communications systems
  including
•         Describing the fundamentals of wired and
  wireless communication systems
•         Comparing the advantages and
  disadvantages of various forms of
  electro-magnetic propagation
•         Explaining
• a. the importance of electro-magnetic spectrum
  management
• b. sources of error and methods of resolving them
• c. the impact of signal to noise ratios on
  wireless communications
• d. how to protect on communications systems,
  wired or wireless, from electro-magnetic
  interference
•         Describing fundamental concepts in the
  application of, and defence against, electronic
  warfare
