- son/heir, creator, deity, savior, and ruler.
- Son/heir
- Deity
- Creator
- LESSON 3
- Ruler
- WARNING DONT DRIFT HEED THE WORD FROM THE
BETTER MESSENGER. - Savior
2Jesus Christ is Ruler (113-14 13)
- (Heb 113 NKJV) But to which of the angels has
He ever said Sit at My right hand, Till I make
Your enemies Your footstool? - (Heb 13 NKJV) when He had by Himself purged
our sins, sat down at the right hand of the
Majesty on high, - Psalm 1101 is often applied to Jesus. (Matt.
2242-46, Acts 232-36, I Cor. 1524-28) - When did Jesus assume power? (Acts 232-36)
- When will His reign cease? (I Cor. 1524-28)
3Jesus Christ is Ruler (113-14 13)
- (Psa 1101 NKJV) The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit
at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your
footstool." - (Mat 2242 NKJV) saying, "What do you think
about the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to
Him, "The Son of David." - (Mat 2243 NKJV) He said to them, "How then does
David in the Spirit call Him 'Lord,' saying - (Mat 2244 NKJV) 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit
at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your
footstool"'? - (Mat 2245 NKJV) "If David then calls Him
'Lord,' how is He his Son?" - (Mat 2246 NKJV) And no one was able to answer
Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare
question Him anymore.
4Jesus Christ is Ruler (113-14 13)
- (Acts 232 NKJV) "This Jesus God has raised up,
of which we are all witnesses. - (Acts 233 NKJV) "Therefore being exalted to the
right hand of God, and having received from the
Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured
out this which you now see and hear. - (Acts 234 NKJV) "For David did not ascend into
the heavens, but he says himself 'The LORD said
to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, - (Acts 235 NKJV) Till I make Your enemies Your
footstool."' - (Acts 236 NKJV) "Therefore let all the house of
Israel know assuredly that God has made this
Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
5Jesus Christ is Ruler (113-14 13)
- (1 Cor 1524 NKJV) Then comes the end, when He
delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He
puts an end to all rule and all authority and
power. - (1 Cor 1525 NKJV) For He must reign till He has
put all enemies under His feet. - (1 Cor 1526 NKJV) The last enemy that will be
destroyed is death. - (1 Cor 1527 NKJV) For "He has put all things
under His feet." But when He says "all things are
put under Him," it is evident that He who put all
things under Him is excepted. - (1 Cor 1528 NKJV) Now when all things are made
subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be
subject to Him who put all things under Him, that
God may be all in all.
6Jesus Christ is Ruler (113-14 13)--Contd
- (Heb 113 NKJV) But to which of the angels has
He ever said "Sit at My right hand, Till I make
Your enemies Your footstool"? - (Heb 114 NKJV) Are they not all ministering
spirits sent forth to minister for those who will
inherit salvation? - (Heb 114 NASB) Are they not all ministering
spirits, sent out to render service for the sake
of those who will inherit salvation? - Do angels minister to or for us?
- What are angels?
7WARNING DONT DRIFT HEED THE WORD FROM THE
BETTER MESSENGER. (21-4)
- (Heb 21) Therefore we must give the more
earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we
drift away. - (Heb 22) For if the word spoken through angels
proved steadfast, and every transgression and
disobedience received a just reward, - (Heb 23) how shall we escape if we neglect so
great a salvation, which at the first began to be
spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by
those who heard Him, - (Heb 24) God also bearing witness both with
signs and wonders, with various miracles, and
gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own
will?
8WARNING DONT DRIFT HEED THE WORD FROM THE
BETTER MESSENGER. (21-4)--Contd
- (Heb 21) Therefore we must give the more
earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we
drift away. - (Heb 21 KJV) Therefore we ought to give the
more earnest heed to the things which we have
heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. - What special danger is in that word
drift/slip? - How many ways can a Christian drift?
- Are we like the recipients of this book? Could
this happen to us? - What can we do to help prevent it? (Heb. 21,
Heb. 1025 see Heb. 1023-1325 for Admonitions)

- (Heb 22) For if the word spoken through angels
proved steadfast, and every transgression and
disobedience received a just reward, - (Heb 23) how shall we escape if we neglect so
great a salvation, which at the first began to be
spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by
those who heard Him, - (Heb 24 NASB) God also bearing witness with
them, both by signs and wonders and by various
miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit
according to His own will. - Why do Christians have a greater obligation than
those under the Law of Moses to keep the law God
gave them? - What do verses 3-4 indicate about the author?
13WARNING DONT DRIFT HEED THE WORD FROM THE
BETTER MESSENGER. (21-4)--Contd
- (Heb 23) how shall we escape if we neglect so
great a salvation, which at the first began to be
spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by
those who heard Him, - (Heb 24) God also bearing witness both with
signs and wonders, with various miracles, and
gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own
will? - How was Gods message revealed? (I Cor. 29-13)
- To whom was the message revealed? (Eph. 35)
- How was the message confirmed? (Mark 1615-18)
14WARNING DONT DRIFT HEED THE WORD FROM THE
BETTER MESSENGER. (21-4)--Contd
- How was Gods message revealed? (I Cor. 29-13)
- Paul describes the exact mechanism by which God
gave His messages to man words. - (1 Cor 212 NKJV) that we might know the things
that have been freely given to us by God. - (1 Cor 213 NKJV) These things we also speak,
not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which
the Holy Spirit teaches. - Observe
- They (the prophets) were taught things by the
Holy Spirit. - They were taught those things in words--words
that they could then speak.
15WARNING DONT DRIFT HEED THE WORD FROM THE
BETTER MESSENGER. (21-4)--Contd
- To whom was the message revealed? (Eph. 35)
- The Holy Spirit communicated with prophets.
- Paul wrote to the Ephesians about his...
- (Eph 34-5 NKJV) knowledge in the mystery of
Christ), which in other ages was not made known
to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed
by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets - New information had been revealed to prophets
(including Apostles) by the Spirit. - Prophets were part of the miraculous age (I Cor.
1228-29, 1429-32 Eph. 411-15).
16WARNING DONT DRIFT HEED THE WORD FROM THE
BETTER MESSENGER. (21-4)--Contd
- How was the message confirmed? (Mark 1615-18)
- Signs, wonders, and miracles confirmed prophetic
messengers and their messages. - (Mark 1620 NKJV) And they went out and preached
everywhere, the Lord working with them and
confirm-ing the word through the accompanying
signs. Amen. - (Heb 24 NKJV) God also bearing witness both
with signs and wonders, with various miracles,
and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His
own will? - The Holy Spirit provided confirmation/witness
using events that could be perceived through the
five senses.
17Jesus Christ is Savior (25-18 13)
- (Heb 26 NKJV) But one testified in a certain
place, saying What is man that You are mindful
of him, Or the son of man that You take care of
him? - (Heb 27 NKJV) You have made him a little lower
than the angels You have crowned him with glory
and honor, And set him over the works of Your
hands. - (Heb 28 NKJV) You have put all things in
subjection under his feet. For in that He put
all in subjection under him, He left nothing that
is not put under him. But now we do not yet see
all things put under him. - Who is man (a son of man) that does not now
have all in subjection to him? - Over what did man lose his power?
- How will man gain power over that thing again?
18Jesus Christ is Savior (25-18 13)--Contd
- (Heb 29 NKJV) ... Jesus, who was made a little
lower than the angels, for the suffering of death
that He, by the grace of God, might taste death
for everyone. - (Heb 217 NKJV) Therefore, in all things He had
to be made like His brethren, that He might be a
merciful and faithful High Priest in things
pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the
sins of the people. - Why did Jesus have to take an earthly form to be
our savior? - (29)
- (210)
- (214-15)
- (217)
- (218)
