  • Unity of church is grounded in oneness with
    Christ.
  • Bears witness to unity of Christ with the Father.

  • Chief characteristic is love for one another.
  • Nothing said of loving outsiders or enemies (cf.
    Qumran).

  • Gods glory (renown, radiant splendor) given to
    Jesus, is now given to church (manifests Gods
    glory).

    because they were abused in practice.

  • 1711 And now I am no longer in the world. Holy
    Father, protect them in your name that you have
    given me, so that they may be one, as we are one.

    may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I
    am in you, may they also be in us, so that the
    world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The
    glory that you have given me I have given them,
