  • Needs documents the problems to be solved
  • Objectives creates the means by which you will
    achieve your goals in measurable terms
  • Activities describes the activities or ways in
    which you will meet objectives
  • Evaluation provides a plan to determine if
    objectives activities are being met according
    to a schedule includes formative (progress)
    evaluation summative (product) evaluation
  • Budget delineates budget by expenditure
    categories. Narrative budget provides
    justifications for budget figures.

Tips for Grant Writing
  • Read the Request for Proposal (RFP) carefully
    adhere strictly to its guidelines
  • Focus on client needs, not organizational needs
    state the consequences for the lack of services
  • Write concisely powerfully
  • Avoid jargon but use terminology that is in the
    explanatory sections of the RFP
  • Stay aware of time dont spend too much time on
    one section
