What is Public/ Private Ventures?

• Public/Private Ventures is a national nonprofit
  organization whose mission is to improve the
  effectiveness of social policies, programs and
  community initiatives, especially as they affect
  youth and young adults.

This mission is achieved by

• Develop or identify social policies, strategies
  and practices that promote individual economic
  success and citizenship, and stronger families
  and communities.
• Assess the effectiveness of these promising
  approaches and distill their critical elements
  and benchmarks, using rigorous field study and
  research methods.
• Mine evaluation results and implementation
  experiences for their policy and practice
  implications, and communicate the findings to
  public and private decision-makers, and to
  community leaders.
• Create and field test the building blocksmodel
  policies, financing approaches, curricula and
  training materials, communication strategies and
  learning processesthat are necessary to
  implement effective approaches more broadly. Work
  with leaders of the various sectors to implement
  these expansion tools, and to improve their
  usefulness.

• I really thought this was a great part of the
  site because you can choose the subject that
  interests you most.
• Also, the site is continuously updated with new
  community initiatives and ideas.

Access to newsletters

• This asset of the site gives previous newsletters
  posted by the organization. With articles and
  current happenings, the newsletters provide
  knowledge for people in the CYD profession.

Easy to navigate

• Although this was my first time visiting the
  site, I found it easy to navigate. You could use
  the top toolbar to view articles based on the
  subject ranging from youth violence reduction to
  faith based initiatives.

• Overall, this site is useful for people who seek
