• Benito Mussolini Established a totalitarian
  regime in Italy where unemployment and inflation
  were problems
• Fascism Stressed nationalism and placed the
  interests of the state above those of the
  individual
• Power rested with a single strong leader and
  devoted party members
• Achieved efficiency in government by crushing all
  opposition
