  • To identify the specific training and CPD needs
    of information professionals in the Health
    Science sector 
  • Design and organize training programmes to meet
    the needs identified. 
  • Audit the skills of IHSLG members and establish a
    panel of trainers.
  • Research advise on training policy development,
    strategies and initiatives to meet the goals of
    the IHSLG Strategic Plan.
  • Liaise with educational training institutions
    and international HSL groups
  • WEBSITE WORKING GROUP (WSWG)
  • Outline purpose of the IHSLG web site manner in
    which a web presence can be used to further
    objectives of group
  • Assess all aspects of groups current web
    presence
  • Examine current best practice in web design,
    content management, creation of content,
    promotion, marketing and training
  • Assess relevant software to determine what web
    editing tools, content management systems, file
    transfer programmes and other applications
    necessary for developing and maintaining a web
    presence are appropriate

  • Develop links and strategic partnerships with
    relevant external professional bodies, both
    within Ireland and internationally.
  • 2. Work with all relevant individuals and bodies
    to actively influence nattional policy in all
    matters relating to information, knowledge and
    libraries, particularly with regard to the Health
    Service reform programme.
