Japan
  • The U.S. underestimated the Japanese until Dec.
    7, 1941.
  • They had us all scoped out and we did have
suspicions but no one took any action.
  • We were sitting ducks when the bombers came in
because our ships were so close that they were
    easy targets to pick of.

Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was a total massacre on US grounds.
Almost every ship in the harbor was lost to the

Hitlers Surrender
  • Aldolf Hitler surrendered in the first days of
    May 1945.
  • Hitler killed himself days before the surrender
    of Germany.
  • But how did Hitler rise to power in the first
    place.
  • 1908 he started his hatred of the Jews. He
thought this because a Jewish professor rejected
    his artwork.
  • In 1920 he was leader of the Nazi party.
  • Then he declared war on the world and the Jews

20
Holocaust
  • This Presentation is also about the unnecessary
    killing of millions of Jews.
  • Hitler thought that he could blame everything on
    the Jews.
  • He wanted a perfect race of people to stay when
they were never there to start with.
  • Hitler started the most devastating killing in
    the whole war.

Next
21
Hitlers Plan
  • First of all Hitler wanted to make the whole
    world ruled by Germany.
  • He also wanted to make the nation Arians, a
blonde hair blue eye race that never existed.
  • To do this he needed to get rid of the ones who
    were not Arians.
  • Hitler himself was not a Arian.
  • He took this mainly out on the Jews

Concentration Camps
Crematorium of a camp.
  • The Jews were sent to concentration camps where
most of them died. As Eli Wiesel experienced
They were dumping truck loads of dead babies
    into a giant furnace.

Swastika
  • This symbol is known by all as the Nazi
Symbol. But does everyone know what it means? It
stands for power, reincarnation, and return. It
turns counter clock wise to resemble the force to
the wind. They adopted this symbol in 1920 as
the official symbol of the Nazi party.

Next
25
Life in the Camps
  • Jews were transported to the camps in train cars
    used for cattle.
  • Mostly they worked or starved to death.
  • Normally there were 150,000 prisoners or more.
  • One of the many tasks done by the Jews was to dig
up the dead bodies from mass graves and burn them
so there was no trace of brutality.
  • If enemy forces were coming there were Death
    Marches.

Next
26
Death Marches
  • When enemy forces were on their way to the camps
they evacuated the camp in this way.
  • The Jews were forced to run to the next camp.
This could have took a couple of days to
    complete.
  • Many of the Jews died of hunger, illness, or they
were shot for being to weak to walk.
  • This was done whatever the weather was. Many of
them were cold enough that the snow seemed like a
    warm blanket to them.
  • When they did stop many fell asleep and never
    woke up.
