Timekeeper Saturday Varsity
  • The timekeepers primary responsibility is to
keep the time during the match
  • You will either use a scoring system or a
    stopwatch
  • The referee starts and stops time so pay
    attention to them
  • He will most often use his whistle to do so
  • You will also need an additional stopwatch to
    record blood or injury time
  • You can also assist the scorekeeper if necessary
to flip the score on flip charts

10
Timekeeper Saturday JV Sunday - Youth
  • Same responsibilities as above, however you will
    most likely be using stopwatches
  • Also, because the scorekeeper will need to be
notating any assistance in flipping the score
    would be helpful
  • For both days if there is no buzzer, you will
need to send the tapper out at the appropriate
time and give them the five, four, three, two,
    one countdown

11
Tapper All days
  • Tappers are responsible for tapping the referees
at the end of each period
  • Tappers will need to get up with enough time to
get to the referee with at least 5 secs left
  • At 5 secs left they will place their hand on the
    referees back and give them a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
countdown, then lightly tap them at the end of
    the period
  • Tappers may not be needed on mats with a buzzer,
    referee preference

12
Registration Saturday - Varsity
  • On Saturday, registration will primarily taking
    gate fees from spectators
  • As teams arrive in the morning, send them to the
wrestling room for weigh ins skin checks and
tell their coaches to speak with Coach Luck after
    weigh ins
  • We will need people at the front table all day

13
RegistrationSunday - Youth
  • In addition to persons taking gate money, we will
need persons for each grade to pass out
    registration slips
  • All money gate and for wrestlers should be taken
at the door and all entering should get an x on
    their hand
  • Wrestler then come to the Registration table
organized by grade to get their weigh in sheet
  • Once a registration slip is given, direct the
wrestler to the wrestling room for weigh ins

14
Weigh ins
  • Weigh ins will be responsible for recording the
weights of the wrestlers and performing skin
    checks
  • Coaching staff will perform skin checks all
questionable cases are referred to the referee
    for HS Tourney
  • Varsity teams will have a team weigh in sheet
Youth will have individual weigh in sheets
  • Make sure to X the hand at skin checks write
the wrestlers weight on their shoulder
  • Varsity weigh in sheets go to Coach Luck
  • Youth weigh in sheets go to pairings in the back
    classroom

15
Concessions/Hospitality
  • Concessions are responsible for selling food and
    drink for a profit
  • Concessions are coordinated by Heather Gillund
    (aka Mama G)
  • Hospitality room on Saturday is for visiting
    coaches and our volunteers
  • Hospitality room on Sunday is only for our
    volunteers

16
Pairings Saturday - JV
  • Pairings volunteers will work with Coach Moody on
    JV Brackets
  • Quick Legible handwriting is desired
  • Volunteers will update brackets with match
results and write new bout sheets for the next
    round

17
Pairings Sunday - Youth
  • The job of pairings on Sunday will be to create
the match ups for the four man round robins
  • As weigh in slips come in from weigh ins,
volunteers will lay them out by grade
    (color-coded) and then by weight
  • When weigh ins are complete, volunteers will by
grade weight, place the four nearest wrestlers
    together starting by the lightest
  • Discretion should be used however, and pairers
should avoid if possible placing multiple kids
from the same team/club in a bracket and watch
for large weight discrepancies (10 lbs)

18
Awards
  • Awards are responsible for handing out the awards
  • Saturday Varsity awards will be handled by Coach
Luck and JV awards by Coach Moody
  • Sunday we will need awards persons all day
  • We would like to sell pictures the wrestlers
standing on the podium, so if any one has quality
camera equipment they would like to volunteer
    that would be great!
