    13 years old.

Games
  • Games were sometimes bloody like a real actual
    battle.
  • Once a game of stickball was named the little
    brother of war.
  • Stickball is now called lacrosse.
  • Each player had at least two sticks.
  • The sticks were two or three feet long.
  • Their ball was animal fur wrapped in deerskin.

5
Games
  • Each field was a little more than 200 feet long.
  • Sometimes people died or got a serious injury in
    this game.
  • 75-100 men were on a team.

6
Villages
  • At the center of each village they had a playing
    field.
  • Around the field the Creeks built their houses
    and council buildings.
  • Near the houses there was a great planting field.
  • The Green Corn Ceremony was held in the Chunky
    yard.

7
Family Life
  • Weddings were decided by the bigger women in the
    tribe.
  • The women were the most important leader in the
    houses.
  • The man was always helping around the house.
  • Creek men could marry more than one woman.

8
Trail of Tears
  • Many families were thrown out of their houses and
    killed by the white man.
  • The white men would put the Creeks in a stockade
and it would be dirty, muddy, and nasty.
  • President Andre Jackson made the Creeks go to
Oklahoma. The journey made is known as the Trail
    of Tears.
  • 4,000 Native Americans died on the Trail of
    Tears.
  • When a tear or a drop of blood fell on the trail
a white rose would bloom. This rose is called
    the Cherokee Rose.
