Mother/Baby Unit
  • Average length of stay for a vaginal birth is
    one-two days, and three-four days for a
    Caesarean.
  • During this short period of time, we encourage
you to utilize the resources available to learn
as much as possible about baby care and
    breastfeeding.
  • Channel 10, The Newborn Channel, has 24-hour
programming on baby care, feeding baby and what
it is like to be a parent.
  • Lactation consulting is also available.

24
Mother/Baby Unit
  • Due to the importance of mother-baby bonding
during this time -- you and your baby will be
    cared for by one nurse.
  • Babies stay in the room with their moms. Any
questions are answered or assistance is given in
    the privacy of your room.
  • Studies show moms rest more and are better
prepared to care for their baby when the baby is
allowed to stay with mom during her
    hospitalization.

25
