Upgrade Options - Upgrade

• Upgrade
• Upgrade your existing Crystal Enterprise
  Environment
• Upgrade V8.0 through V9.0 No supported direct
  upgrade from SI
• Simple upgrade, load and go
• Make sure you first upgrade the machine with the
  APS, then upgrade all other servers
• Remember you are upgrading all old components
  not loading new services (Event, Program Job
  Server)
• Make sure you complete the update Objects process
  in the CCM

• Migration
• Install an entire new CE system (New Hardware)
• Migrate the APS database to V10 CMS Database
• New Install of the software
• Full install of V10, then migrate the APS
  Database
• Make sure you complete the update Objects process
  in the CCM
• Install with the MSDE Database version, then
  migrate your SQL, Oracle, Informix or DB2 APS
  Database
• Not a need if the APS database is SQL and is
  loaded on the same server

• New Installation
• Install an entire new CE system (New Hardware)
• No migration clean start
• New Install of the software
• Full install of V10
• Install with the MSDE Database version, then
  migrate to your SQL, Oracle, Informix or DB2 APS
  Database
• Not a need if the APS database is SQL and is
  loaded on the same server
• Total re-input of users, groups, folders, reports
  and security
• Great option to clean up the system

• What services reside on what servers
• License Structure
• Software and Licenses
• Assure you have the proper software (CE, CR, AD
  HOC, Analysis)
• Assure you have the proper key codes (for each
  piece of software)
• Proper Backups
• APS Database (Have you ever attempted to restore)
• FileStore
• Custom Code
• Screen Shot all services settings (Job server)
• Upgrade on Test first, Production second!

  that are on your CE10 CD
