OpportunityIT Supplier Management
  • Overview of Standards IT Supplier Management
    Team
  • Mission/Vision Develop methodologies for
    building and maintaining sustainable
    relationships/partnerships with suppliers who are
    deemed strategic in our supply chain.
  • The team is made up of a manager who reports to
    an Assistant VP within IT, several Commodity
    Managers, several Commodity Specialists, and
    administrative support.
  • The major focus for 2008 will be to lay the
    foundation and build out the structure that will
    achieve the mission and vision.
  • Internship Opportunity
  • Develop a repository of key policies and
    processes for successfully managing a strategic
    supply base. There needs to be an enterprise
    approach taken, and the job will require a great
    deal of interaction with the entire supplier
    management team. A significant amount of
    benchmarking will be required to ensure that all
    policy and process that is adopted is best in
    class.
  • This project directly supports supplier
    managements ability to achieve its goals with a
    unified approach. The company has moved towards
    a more centralized approach to managing suppliers
    and purchasing. The structure/process/policy to
    effectively manage this change needs to be
    completed.

  • Internship Description
  • The intern will function as an entry level
    Systems Analyst and will develop requirements for
    maintenance activities to go into the maintenance
    release cycle.
  • Project or Rotation Description
  • The intern will be assigned to Service Division
    work requests that are considered maintenance or
    small enhancement activities. The intern will
    work with their mentor and business line
    representatives to document work request
    requirements, place the requirements in the
    Requisite Pro tool, and work with Managers in IT
    Business Solutions to make sure the change is
    targeted for an upcoming maintenance release.
  • Skills Needed
  • Good communication skills and the ability to
    communicate technical concepts to non-technical
    users.
