PowerInvoice?

• Provides billing data and electronic facsimiles
  of the customers invoices
• Data available within 24-48 hours after search
  conducted and for up to 6-12 months
• Updated daily
• Can be printed, viewed or downloaded in a
• variety of formats
• Browser based, password/id access

• Billing Search- allows customers to save searches
• Invoice access - allows access to images of
  invoices simultaneous to customer receipt of
  invoices
• Allows customers to market and manage their
  libraries, bill back/cost-recovery

Types of Data Available

• Account, sub-account, service, client id, user
  level data
• date the search was performed, the service
  searched, and the associated type of charge such
  as online time, searches, print lines, or printed
  documents.
• Billable vs. non-billable data separated out
• In-contract and out of contract data
• Administrative data - Charges for monthly
  subscription fees, software, or literature
  purchases

Challenges for LEXIS-NEXIS

• Privacy issues
• Web vs. dial-up usage tracking
• Security use 128 bit, i.e. most secure and
  encrypt data
• Internet problems
• ISP provider difficulties
• Web traffic can lead to timeouts/need to redo
  searches
• Faulty phone connections

• Size of account can impact speed
• Rollout of PowerInvoice to all users
• Currently limited to Large Law firms/LEXIS
• Some NEXIS (banks)
• Will be rolling out soon to other LEXIS users
• Related to system capacity issues
