  • We believe that Roosevelt High School students

  • 1. Meet school performance targets for
  • freshmen on track and increase
  • graduation rates.
  • Indicator A 5 increase in the number
  • of students on track to graduate and
  • a 3 increase in the yearly
  • graduation rate.

  • 2. Meet school performance targets in reading.
  • Indicator An increase in the number of
    students meeting or exceeding state standards on
    PSAE, ACT, and IMAGE.

  • 3. Meet school performance targets in math.
  • Indicator An increase in the number of
    students meeting or exceeding state standards on
    PSAE, ACT, and IMAGE.

  • 4. Improve student connection to the school, with
    special emphasis on meeting attendance
  • targets and decreasing safety and security
    concerns.
  • Indicator A 2 increase in attendance,
    decrease in the number of suspensions, increased
    participation in school activities Student
    Council, Student Development Program, and
    extracurricular activities.

  • Revamp freshman orientation/ transition
  • (LINK CREW)
  • Expand counseling services with an emphasis on
    first year students who are not on track to
    graduate after each semester
  • Offer parent training for parents of freshmen
  • Expand work-keys to include freshmen
  • Offer the A.V.I.D. Program for middle tier
    freshmen
  • Addition of a second post-secondary coach to work
    with our feeder schools

  • Addition of another reading lab
  • Program freshmen who score below the 35th
    percentile for Reading Workshop
  • Apply for a restructured day to allow for
    professional development, common planning time,
    dept. meetings, etc.

    EXCELerator Project- Springboard training
  • Program freshmen who score below the 35th
    percentile for Algebra Workshop

  • Implement recommendations from Breaking Ranks II
  • Increase opportunities for student participation
