4
Software Update
  • FIDAP 8.6 and FLUENT 5.5.14 arrived and will be
    installed shortly.
  • Renewing our annual AVS support license and have
converted some of our licenses to AVS/Express
while retaining one each of AVS 5 and
    AVS/Animator
  • Two requests for AVS (Windows version) in the
last couple of months. The download/install
instructions have been tweaked based on user
    experiences but are still problematic.

5
Software Update Continued
  • The Portland compilers are a big hit. We have 51
    (of 200) licenses outstanding.
  • A problem with Gaussian 98 on the cluster has
been resolved and it appears to be fully
    functional.
  • Sam has requested info from our Ansys users
describing their research. Hell forward it to
Ansys to meet the requirements of our agreement.

6
Software Update Continued
  • Details of deal supporting statewide use of
    LabBook software established. Availability
pending confirmation of legal issues, securing
funding from controlling board and product
    delivery schedule.
  • Substantial statewide interest in BioNavigator
    (Entigen Corp.) for bioinformatics research.
Visits made to Wright State, OARDC, Miami
    University, Kenyon College, Capital University,
and Ohio Wesleyan confirm level of interest.
Visits very supportive of efforts to secure
economical statewide access to this software.
