Grid Connected Solar
Homeowner Benefits
  • 8000 rebate available
  • Reduce power bills
  • Reduce peak loads on grid
  • Double credit for solar power generated
  • Protect from electricity rate rises
  • Rebate for RECs
  • Save 2-4 tonnes CO2 emissions

15
Grid Connected Solar
How does it work?
Your utility bill will show a credit for the
power exported
  • Generating green electricity on your roof offsets
the draw from the mains power grid
  • If the building uses more power than the solar
is generating, the grid automatically supplies
    the rest
  • Any excess power not used is exported back into
    the grid

16
Grid Connected Solar
Environmental Benefits
  • Reduce Global Warming
  • Conserve Fossil Fuels
  • Pollution free energy
  • Prevent 2-3 tonnes of CO2 per year from entering
    the atmosphere

17
Solar Power
Rebates
  • PVRP
  • 8,000 for 1kW
  • RECs
  • Deemed output for 15 years
  • Varies with market kW rating
  • Solar Buy-back Tarrif
  • Net Billing -gt Double Buy-back (44c/kWh)

18
Stand Alone Systems
  • Free, clean electricity anywhere
  • 24 hour power
  • High reliability of supply

19
