Increase of Members

• Up to now, CCSA has accepted 160 members and
  almost 20 observers covering network operators,
  manufactures, RD institutes, design institutes
  and universities.

A New Round of Leader Group

• In 2006, During the 5th General Assembly of CCSA,
  a new round of leader group was elected.
• Members of the Council, Chairmen of 9 Technical
  committees were newly elected.
• Mr.Gaofeng ZHU was re-elected as the Chairman of
  the Council. Mr.Baoxin ZHOU was re-elected as the
  Secretary-General.
• Distinguished guests from ITU, ARIB, TTC and TTA,
  as well as ETSI were invited to participate in
  the 5th General Assembly of CCSA and have given
  wonderful speeches.

Creation of a New Class of Standards

• Under industry standards category, a new class
  of standards was created at the end of 2005,
  which is Technical Report of Communication
  Standards Class (YDB)
• It is created for the techniques which are not
  mature enough but is of market demand.
• The YDB is published by CCSA and reported to the
  MII and can be upgraded to industry standard or
  national standard while being mature enough.
  Now, 3 YDB were published, 12 to be published and
  105 under study.

Improvement of CCSA Structure (1/2)

• In 2006, Technical Management Committee was
  established, consisting of 18 experts, to speed
  up standard making of some interdisciplinary
  technical issues. The mechanism improves the
  efficiency of making standards.
• The terms of reference of the committee are
  to coordinate, to deal with and to resolve
  important technical issues of the CCSA, such as
  approving annual plan of new and revised
  standards, approving YDB standards, making
  proposals of structure of technical
  committeesapproving structure of the working
  groups of technical committee, technical issues
  unable to be resolved by technical committee
  itself etc.

Improvement of CCSA Structure (2/2)

• In order to meet the fast development of
  technologies and market demands, some new Groups
  were established to carry out studies on
  standards of urgent need and Interdisciplinary
  field in a more flexible way. Such as
• IPTV-Special Task Group was established in 2005.
  Good results of IPTV-STG were reached in 2006.
• Home network Ad hoc Group was established in
  2005. Contribution-based system is used for the
  studies of the group.

Enlargement of Scope of Activities

• With the approval of MII, the scope of activities
  of CCSA was enlarged to cover the post related
  standards.
• CCSA is now considering the establishment of some
  related Technical Committees to carry out
  standardization activities on post.

• NGN Test bed
• Complete the planned tests
• Contributed ITU-T standardization activities,
  SGs11/13/19
• 246 contributions to ITU-T in 2006
