  • How to Participate

3
Introduction
  • The purpose of this document is to provide the
community with information regarding the testing
of the Lender Application Process (LAP) and the
    Lender Reporting System (LaRS).
  • ED-SFA is requesting the assistance of the
community in the LAP and LaRS testing efforts to
ensure that the applications are fully functional
    and usable by the community.
  • What is Needed from You
  • If you are participating in community testing,
you will be requested to perform testing within a
    certain timeframe.
  • We are also requesting your feedback on the User
Guides for LAP and LaRS. Drafts of these will be
distributed to the community at large in advance
    of these testing efforts.
  • If you encounter a problem or have a question
during testing, we request that you document it
and submit it according to the directions that
will provided in your testing packet.

4
Introduction (cont.)
  • Before making either LAP or LaRS available to the
community for testing, ED-SFA will thoroughly
test the applications ourselves. Our testing
    efforts will include
  • Unit Testing During Unit Test, our developers
test every piece of code in each of the screens
and other system components to ensure that
everything functions according to the detailed
    system design.
  • System Testing During System Test, individuals
who did not develop the code test the logic and
functionality of the system as a whole, including
its integration with the ED-SFA financial
environment. This testing ensures that the
    system meets the defined requirements.
  • Performance Testing During Performance Test,
ED-SFA will run large quantities of data through
the system and will simulate large numbers of
concurrent users to ensure that the system can
handle the maximums that were specified in the
    requirements. Performance testing may be
performed in a separate environment at the same
    time as community testing.

LAP Testing Information
  • What can we test?
  • Participants will be able to complete the Lender
Application form online for a new lender, a new
servicer, or a new lender/trustee, and to
update/verify information for an existing lender,
    servicer, or lender/trustee.
  • How will we test?
  • Participants will be provided with testing
scripts which must be executed by the end of day
    3/20/2002. Different participants will have
different scripts, to ensure that all scenarios
    are tested.
  • Unscripted testing may be performed any time
    during the week.
  • How much time will this take?
  • Participants will be able to execute their
assigned test scripts in less than one hour.
  • How will I provide feedback during testing?
  • Contact information for providing feedback will
be included in the testing packet. Participants
will be asked to document the results of scripted
    and unscripted testing.

8
LaRS Testing Schedule
  • LaRS testing participants must volunteer by COB
    2/11/2002.
  • LaRS testing participants will receive a testing
packet containing instructions, testing IDs, and
    testing scripts by 5/17/2002.
  • LaRS testing will be conducted 5/27/2002
    5/31/2002.

Please note dates are approximate, and will be
confirmed in future communications to test
participants.

LaRS Testing Information
  • What can we test?
  • Participants will act as lenders, servicers, or
trustees, and will be able to submit invoice data
    via online and file transfer.
  • Participants may test their organizations file
layout for the file transfer option. To
participate in this area of testing, participants
will need to notify ED-SFA prior to testing in
order to coordinate the processing of those
files. ED-SFA would like to receive files that
are the typical size of those expected in
    production.
  • Participants will receive notifications as
specified in the Notifications Matrix included in
    the Final Road Map.
  • Participants will be able to update their user
    profiles.
  • The day after invoice data is submitted,
participants will be able to access LaRS to see
    the results of overnight processing.
  • Participants will be able to use reports to view
    the data in the system.

10
LaRS Testing Information (cont.)
  • How will we test?
  • Participants will be provided with testing
    scripts. Different participants will have
different scripts, to ensure that all scenarios
    are tested.
  • Participants will be assigned testing LIDs and/or
Servicer IDs for testing purposes. These LIDs
and Servicer IDs will be fictitious, since the
data in the community test region may be viewed
by individuals not authorized to view data in
    production.
  • Unscripted testing may be performed at any time
during the testing week. Participants may submit
invoice data from prior quarters as part of their
unscripted testing, with the LIDs and Servicer
IDs changed to the testing ones.
  • How much time will this take?
  • Participants will be able to complete their
scripted testing within one hour. They will also
be asked to verify any notifications that result
from their testing notifications will be
delivered to the email address listed in the LaRS
    application within 24 hours.
  • How will I provide feedback during testing?
  • Contact information for providing feedback will
be included in the testing packet. Participants
will be asked to document the results of scripted
    and unscripted testing.
