Colleagues of different Ibero-American Literacy
Associations are involved in the project that we
are presenting today, the "Reader and Writer
Cities and Towns Network" (its acronym in spanish
is CPLE-Network).
This literacy project began two years ago but it
is still not closed nowadays because its outline
and possibilities are in continuous construction
different proposals, different paths,
different interchanges, different socials
contexts, different times, different ways of
reading, different ways of writing...

READER CITIES NETWORK OF LATIN AMERICA countries

young and adult readers and writers from
different towns and cities, whose final objective
is to encourage the new generations to use

AIMS OF THE PROJECT
INTRA-CITY/TOWN LEVEL Within each city and town
INTER-CITY/TOWN LEVEL among the cities and towns

AIMS OF THE PROJECT
To boost the performances among infantile and
young readers and writers in the context of each
city/town
To promote and boost inter-institutional
performance processes
To strengthen the development of different ways
of communication among readers and writers from
all generations, in order to encourage the
youngest to read and write.

AIMS OF THE PROJECTS
To organize meetings and interchanges of
experiences among the memberships of the CPLE
Network, even in a virtual way.
To establish some ties among the reading and
writing experiences performed by different
Iberoamerican cities and towns.
To organize the 2nd Iberoamerican Congress on
Writing and Reading A Proposal From CPLE
Network (May 2008).
To promote the wealth of the Reader Cities
Network through the participation of other
European cities in this project.

PERFORMANCE LEVELS
1st LEVEL Creation of a specific WORK COMISSION
for this Project in each town/city

2nd LEVEL search for READING AND WRITING
IDENTITIES in children and young people from each
town and city included in CPLE Network.
Identifying urban routes where children and young
people can read and write. Strengthening the
existing routes and creating new ones.
Counting on AELE to design programs Exhibition
of Photographic Poems, Read Together between
elderly and young people, etc.
Elaborating a reader and writer cartography.
Distributing a reading/writing passport to go
round the routes where people read and write.
Activating communicative networks and joint
operations through the meetings among the members
of the CPLE Network.

    and writing experiences in the Spanish towns and
    cities which are member of the CPLE Network, and
    between these and those from Reader Cities
    Network of Latin America.

IBEROAMERICAN SHOWS PHOTOGRAPHIC POEMS WITH
EYES AND VOICE OF WOMEN
In Spain, the AELE developed the first version of
Exhibition of Photographic Poems from 2005 until
today
Now, the CPLE Network and Readers Cities Network
of Latin America, develop this project in common.
So, it born the second version of this exhibition
With eyes and voice of women
AIMS OF THE PROJECT
To promote socially functional readers and
writers in intimate connection with the creation
of different cultural strands.
To interlace languages and texts from
concatenated artistic productions (photos and
poems),
To create spaces for thinking the world appealing
to the nuances offered by words and the
complementarity between the various languages.

At the moment there are 10 countries
participating in the proposal about this
exhibition Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica,
Bolivia, Panamá, México, Guatemala, Perú,
Portugal and Spain.

cities are connected with Reader and Writer
Cities and Towns Network. INTENTION To share
this project with other european countries.
