LESSON PLANS
  • Most videos in the APT PLUS library come with
    lesson plans.
  • These lesson plans contain tests and numerous
other reproducible activities to use in the
    classroom, as additional instruction, for
    homework, or extra credit.

9
FULLY INTERACTIVE ONLINE ASSESSMENT
  • Professional educators have created quizzes and
tests for instructional videos in the APT PLUS
    library.
  • If a student selects an incorrect answer, he or
she will receive online video feedback, a short
video clip reinforcing the correct answer.
  • Teachers have the option of creating their own
custom quizzes for students to take online.
  • Not currently recommended for dial-up use due to
    bandwidth limitations.

10
The Good.
  • Can download the videos and still images for
    classroom use (free).
  • Can play the videos using windows media player
    and through PowerPoint.
  • Can project computer images and video via
projector or TV adaptor in the classroom.
  • The videos are designed for teaching specific
    objectives and not for entertainment.

11
The Bad.
  • Use of this resource by teachers will require
    TIME for review and planning.
  • Digital Curriculum web site is setup to stream
the videos for viewing while online, but it does
not work well because of the limited capacity
(bandwidth) of our network. (Future possibility).
  • Teachers must review the video description and
    correlated objectives for classroom application
BEFORE downloading and using the video.
  • Excessive use by students during the school day
has the potential to slow other network
    operations.

12
The Ugly.
  • Digital video files are VERY LARGE in size and
can fill a computer hard drive easily.
  • Digital video files require a long time to
download and can slow Internet Access for
everyone if downloaded during the regular school
    day.
  • Storing several digital video files on a single
computer over a long period of time is not
practical. (Video must be moved to another media
storage if future use is planned.)
  • Digital videos can be burned to a CD if CD
    burner is present.
