information to its members. EC has no ability to
disseminate this information as it does not have
access to RC/NRHA members in Canada.

to assist with developing grassroots reining
    growth.

4
International Affiliate Program IAP
  • Reining Canada is the National Affiliate
    Association (NAA) for the NRHA.
  • The IAP was developed to unite reining around the
world so that competitions are run under a
standard set of rules, judges and tracked
earnings.  The IAP is also necessary to allow
reiners to compete at FEI competitions such at
The Masters and The World Equestrian Games.
  • Canada is unique among the reining countries in
the world in that we share a border with the
United States. However Canada is a country apart,
and needs to fit into the FAA structure as does
    Italy, Germany, etc.
  • Examples of Direct Benefits of the IAP include
  • The use of the NRHA judging system, earnings
tracking and rulebook for reining events in
    Canada.
  • Rebates of NRHA membership dollars to Canada
which RC in turn provides back to the Affiliates
    through various programs.

5
Benefits of Reining Canada
  • Governance Benefits
  • Reining Canada has a national Board comprised of
Directors from areas across Canada (BC, AB, Sask,
    MB, ON, QC and NB).
  • Reining Canada provides two Directors as a
National Body, representing 1,200 reiners in
Canada, to sit on the NRHA Board of Directors.
  • Examples of a benefit derived from having TWO
representatives on the NRHA Board, in 2009
  • the NRHA proposed that for Show Earnings and
Added Money an exchange rate was to be set at
    0.82 (C/US). That meant for a C1,000 added
class it would be recorded as US820 (and not
eligible for a Morrison) regardless that a
C1,000 was paid out. The RC representatives
lobbied the exchange be left at par and were
    successful.
  • RC is investigating trophy options so that
Canadians can still be awarded NRHA trophies but
avoid the escalated costs associated with the
    purchase and shipping of them.
  • RC assisted in securing the Montana Silversmith
Buckle Program to be available to Canadian
Affiliates as well as US Affiliates.
