Information Clearing House for Central and
Eastern Europe and Turkey
Kristina Vilimaite, Project Manager The Regional
Environmental Center for Central and Eastern
Europe September 30, 2004
2What is an Information Clearing House?
- Web-based information exchange system
- More than just a website links resources
together - Should remove information related barriers for
REES development
3Geographical coverage
- 16 countries
- from Estonia
- to Turkey
4Why the Information Clearing House?
- Our experience situation changes fast in the
region, RE and EE information not up-to-date
scattered difficult to acquire - REEEP partners identified urgent need for
improving access to information - EBRD assessment emphasizes the need for a central
database, information clearinghouse, and
matchmaking service for sponsors, developers, and
financiers for renewable projects in CEE
5Who can benefit form the ICH
6Main Principles
- Information regularly reviewed by REEEP partners
- Partners can update
- Same template for all countries
- Good structure and extended search possibilities
- Based on the needs of users
