an American writer living in Paris and a friend
of Picassos, stated his paintings were blue
because he added laundry bluing to his paint to
extend its use.

Spain. His father was also an artist. There is A
story which relates that when Picasso was 15 his
father des- troyed his paint brushes,
because Pablo had long surpassed his
talent. Young Picasso left Spain to study in
Paris.
