How has NCLB changed teacher qualification
requirements?
  • Required all states who receive Title I-A funds
    to have all core academic teachers highly
    qualified by the end of 2005-06
  • Extension given with HQT Plan approved by US
    Department

What is the definition of a Highly Qualified
Teacher?
  • Obtain full state licensure
  • Holds a minimum of a bachelors degree
  • Demonstrate subject matter competency
