Safety information that must always be followed
to participate in science investigations and
laboratories!
3- Dress not to impress but to be safe!
- Remember we are here to learn, not get a date for
the dance! - Be sure to follow the following dress guidelines
- Goggles are ALWAYS on your eyes you need to
protect your eyes, not your forehead! - Long hair is pulled away from your face!
- No open toe shoes are worn!
- Clothes are not baggy and jewelry is small/off.
- Your contacts are out (if necessary.)

6- The lab is for learning, not playing!
7- Stay with your lab your lab group and at your
assigned station. - Walk appropriately with all materials.
(Demonstrations will be shown as needed.) - Wear your goggles on your eyes!
- No eating in the lab! (This includes gum!!!)
- No lab materials can be taken from the lab!
- Clean up after yourself!
- Dispose of chemical wastes correctly!
8- Notify your teacher immediately if
- There is a chemical spill
- Glassware or other equipment is broken
- You or your lab partner is injured
- You smell gas
- There is a fire!
9And the reason why we have these rules is so
that this doesnt happen!
10- There are 42 science lab rules covered in the
Science Safety Contract! - You need to be familiar with all of them!
- Prior to participating in your first lab you must
- Return the Student Safety Contract signed by you
and a parent. - Pass the science lab safety test!

insane! They are to keep you and your
classmates safe in a laboratory setting! A safe
lab is a happy lab!
