Safety Matters!
Safety information that must always be followed
to participate in science investigations and
laboratories!

  • Dress not to impress but to be safe!
  • Remember we are here to learn, not get a date for
    the dance!
  • Be sure to follow the following dress guidelines
  • Goggles are ALWAYS on your eyes you need to
    protect your eyes, not your forehead!
  • Long hair is pulled away from your face!
  • No open toe shoes are worn!
  • Clothes are not baggy and jewelry is small/off.
  • Your contacts are out (if necessary.)

  • The lab is for learning, not playing!

  • Stay with your lab your lab group and at your
    assigned station.
  • Walk appropriately with all materials.
    (Demonstrations will be shown as needed.)
  • Wear your goggles on your eyes!
  • No eating in the lab! (This includes gum!!!)
  • No lab materials can be taken from the lab!
  • Clean up after yourself!
  • Dispose of chemical wastes correctly!

  • Notify your teacher immediately if
  • There is a chemical spill
  • Glassware or other equipment is broken
  • You or your lab partner is injured
  • You smell gas
  • There is a fire!

that this doesnt happen!

  • You need to be familiar with all of them!
  • Prior to participating in your first lab you must
  • Return the Student Safety Contract signed by you
    and a parent.

These safety rules are not my way to drive you
insane! They are to keep you and your
classmates safe in a laboratory setting! A safe
lab is a happy lab!
